Tinkerbell Auction

like the tinkerbell fairies that most all girls are obsessed with?

i hate them. don’t know why. but, i do. just curious what the big deal is about fairies is all.

It’s possible, Gentle Asker, that when you were younger, you ran across some uncensored versions of Grimm’s Fairy Tales or those of Hans Christian Andersen. I actually did once, and well….

I was shocked. ^_^ These were more like *campfire* or *ghost* stories originally. In the original, uncensored Cinderella, for example, the Evil Stepmother (not wicked, *evil*) and the two Step-Sisters had their *eyes* pecked out of them by a flock of ravens at the end. O_O Nasty stuff. And when you think about it, *way better* in a storytelling sense than the watered-down, Disney version, where the bad guys are let off the hook (for a sequel presumably).

Point is, I get your point. But….most folks don’t. And at the end of the day, does it matter whose stories are more familiar? Does it matter that everyone either female or under the age of ten has some sort of Tinkerbelle crush going on?

This isn’t Shakespeare’s day, after all, where ordinary people actually *worry* about these things, now is it? ^_^ Think. If you know some folklore, you’ll know this….fairies (a.k.a. The Folk), *Hate*, as in can’t stand, to hear their own names or be talked about, traditionally. Right?

Ok then….even if on some weird, random chance there was something to worry about, the truth is, the *popularity* of fairies actually is pretty good *pest control* by itself! ^_^

So….let it be. Give it a rest. Let the girls have their fancies. The less they know about the truth, the better really.
