Atheists, I don’t believe in fairies, do you see me walking around saying that Tinkerbell is not real..?
and that they don’t exist?
surely I would be overcompensating for something, right?
I mean I have numerous atheist friends (I don’t live in a Christian community), but they just do not believe in God - end of story, they don’t walk around screaming He doesn’t exist…
Exactly my point! Good Question!

You have never seen anyone here walking around at all, let alone walking around screaming that god doesn’t exist.
And faeries obviously aren’t a suitable analogy. I’m not going to offend your intelligence by pointing out all the reasons why, I’m sure you already knew when you wrote your question.

When you find someone trying to teach the idea of fairies in public school science classrooms, I’ll spend more of my time telling anyone who will listen that fairies don’t exist.

You just did. And I don’t walk around saying god doesn’t exist, I sit on my couch and type it in the R&S section on Yahoo.

I bet you would if people flew planes into skyscrapers under the assumption that fairies exist.
I’m glad that you’ve discovered the connection between gods and other mystical creatures like fairies, though.

Do you have a question or did you just want to get that rant off your chest?

"they don’t walk around screaming He doesn’t exist…"
Neither do I in the real world. I rarely discuss religion outside of R&S.

How many people have been killed in the name of faeries? None.
How many people have been killed in the name of religion? Millions.

People who do believe in Tinkerbell don’t try to shove their beliefs down our throats, like Christians do.

I feel you. Some Atheist just want to be disrespectful. Other’s are pretty mature and only state their opinions when their asked.

I think it’s fair to say that if someone came onto a public board, insisting that fairies were real and you would face some sort of eternal torment for not accepting them into your life, you would have something to say about it.
In the real world, most atheists rarely broach the subject. Yahoo answers is a different type of environment though.

I don’t scream he doesn’t exist.
We’re on a site discussing religion, so I will share my opinion.
That doesn’t mean I’m publicly advertising my atheism and handing out fliers saying that God is a myth.

I believe in evolution. You don’t see me walking around attempting to make everyone believe in it, do you?
