On the Tinkerbell DS game, how do you thread items to make accessories?

I have tried threading them in number order yet i still can’t seem to do it right. I don’t understand why some of the numbers are point something (i.e 1.4), is this where i am going wrong? (I never take the stylus off the screen so it’s not that) PLEASE HELP!

If you have more than one number on an item that means it gets threaded twice. If it is labeled 1, 4 then start on that item and thread it first, then go to the item labeled 2 then 3 and then back to the first one because even though it is first, it is also fourth in the threading series.
