What is the order of the Peter Pan Series?

I have been looking for old Peter Pan books from second hand books stores and online and everything, and I’ve come to discover there are lots of books! I want to know which is the origional by the origional author and is the one who wrote the Peter Pan story about Neverland with Wendy.
I believe there is one called Peter Pan and then some place name… And then there is Peter and Wendy, and then there is Peter PAN and Wendy, and All this stuff! Can someone please clear it up for me!!! THANKS!

All right, well, there is only one author, who wrote the original Peter Pan story, and that is James Barrie. Everything that you see that is not written by him is a sequel.

Barrie had the story of Peter in his mind for a long time. He wrote a book called "The Little White Bird" a long time before he wrote Peter Pan, but it already has Peter in it, as a minor character.
After Peter Pan became that famous, the chapters from this book where published separately, as "Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens", because many people wanted to read Peters very first appearances.

Some years after "The Little White Bird", Barrie finally started writing on Peters story, but he first wrote it as a stage play. He called this play, "Peter Pan or The Boy who wouldn’t grow up".

After the play was celebrated, he republished it as a novel, called "Peter and Wendy".

This novel today has been reprinted many times, and some publishers decided to call it "Peter Pan" instead of "Peter and Wendy".

Lastly, there is "Peter Pan and the Starcatchers" and "Peter Pan in Scarlet", both NOT written by Barrie, but by other authors who received the right to write about these characters. The first is a prequel to Peter Pan, the last a sequel to "Peter and Wendy".

Well, that should be all of them. Hope I helped!

Can you help describe the setting of the Peter pan story?

I need to help my 7 year old with his homework. He has to write about peter pan using descriptive words. Can anyone help?

What kind of accent do they do in Peter Pan?

What accent do they do in Peter Pan the Musical (Like with Cathy Rigby, or Mary Martin)
I want to practice it because my dream role is Peter in the show. The accent that Cathy Rigby does is best, so what kind of accent does she do? If you don’t know the show, look up Peter Pan with Cathy Rigby on YouTube and click on one of the "Parts" of the movie. Thanks!

Cathy Rigby does an mild approximation of a Cockney (working-class, east London) accent, presumably to contrast with Wendy’s middle-to-upper-class, west London accent. But there’s nothing in the script that says Peter should have that accent, and a different director might want him to have a accent like Wendy’s (which fits the character’s backstory), or whatever the actor uses naturally (like Jeremy Sumpter).

Also, be careful with accents. Unless you do it really well, it can come across as a bit of a joke. You don’t want to speak Cockney like Dick VanDyke in "Mary Poppins", or Scots like Groundskeeper Willy in "The Simpsons". If Cathy Rigby were to perform with that accent in Britain, the audience would notice that she doesn’t use it consistently, and it’d be distracting.

Why is Cinderella considered a classic, yet Pocahontas and Peter Pan are not?

Peter Pan and Pocahontas teach kids to be indepenent and Cinderella that it’s ok to take crap from ppl. The princesses are all dependent on men, yet they’re still classics? Why do you think that is?

Peter Pan’s Considered a classic, but Pocahantas (the film) is relatively new, from the 90s it could be considered a modern classic I guess, but the film Cinderella and Peter Pan are classics from the 1950s and the stories are far older than that.

Besides, Pocahontas is a far stretch from what actually happened with Pocahontas.

What would be a good audition song for Peter Pan the musical?

I’m 15, and I’m trying out for a community theater production of Peter Pan, and I have a high tenor voice. What would be some good audition songs if I were trying out for Peter? They cannot be from the show, and they have to be broadway songs. Any help is great! Thanks!
I DO have a very high voice. I played Oliver Twist in Oliver! a year and a half ago and JoJo the Who in Seussical a year ago, and my voice still hasn’t changed, so I should be alright!

You better have a *really* high tenor voice if you’re trying out for Peter. I’m sure you know that role is usually played by a woman - the score goes up to fourth space C. This is assuming that your group is doing the Broadway version with the famous music.

Choose something simple and sweet. "Giants in the Sky" from Into the Woods would be good. (Keep in mind it is incredibly hard on the piano accompanist though - very, very difficult).

The songs in Peter Pan are simple and charming, very melodic, and they must really count. Compared to the mountain of dialogue in that show (there is TONS of talking), the songs are few and far between.

Will I be able to buy Peter Pan Peanut Butter again and when?

My favorite is the the creamy. I have tried others and they just don’t taste the same as Peter Pan. I also had a jar that was recalled, but had already eaten most of the jar without incident.

I think they already have it on the shelves where I live. Try Walmart’s great value. It was recalled too because it’s the same peanut beutter as peter pan just in a different container! I’m sure they have it again.

i think the lost boys hideout, or just the hideout? i love that movie!!! i have it!!!!!!!!
I LOVE THE NAME PETER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Peter pan??

Ok how old is peter pan? In the disney movie at the end the dad remebers the ship from when he was a kid. And in Hook Wendy is like 90 & Peter pan "grew" up and is what 45? But what is his real age? Oh and what is Captin Hook’s real name? I mean he got the hook after Peter Pan cut it off. And in the disney movie doesn’t Captin hook look like walt disney? And yes I know this post is more proof that I need to get out more!

Ok his age i have no clue, but the Cpt Hook one i can answer. It is Captain James Theodore Hook. And no im not crazy, im a sailor.

How Many Peter Pan Related Movies Are There?

I know this is a childish question but im just in love with the story. I know about the original animated Peter Pan, and the 2003 version, and also Hook, and Finding Neverland. I love them all, and I was wondering, if anyone knows also where I could find an unedited original copy of the book/play?

Well, the movies you know are pretty much the ones well known.
There are a couple more:

- The 1960 version from Broadway with wonderful Mary Martin:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0054176/

- The 1924 original with Betty Bronson as Pan:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0015224/

Then there are several musicals, TV series’s, and even an anime series. The ones you have seen are the highlights though ;-)

I am not sure there is an unedited original of the story out there. I looked for it and wasn’t successful, so I just started reading the novel, which was a play first. I never read the play itself, but this is still great Barrie work.
The novel and the play are essentially the same. There are several books today (not children’s lit) that are known under several names: "Peter Pan" (the common name nowadays), "Peter and Wendy" (the original name for the novel), and "Peter Pan, or the boy who wouldn’t grow up" (the original name of the play).
All of them are the same thing now.

There is one more thing: Barrie wrote about Peter before he wrote the novel. The boy has an appearance in the novel "Little White Bird", and since Pan is now very popular, these chapters have been published under the name "Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens". It all takes place before Peter meets Wendy, which is an interesting read also.

My my, so much stuff :)
Hope this helped!
